Haello, my friends. I kome to you today to spread the wiisdom of de Broadcast!
For the past month I've been playing a game on the XBLA (also available on PC)called Iron Brigade (formerly known as Trenched) where you basically take a WWII-styled open-top mech with customized weapon specifications against the Monovision hordes, aided by turrets called in onto the battlefield using scrap dropped on enemy kills.
It's third-person combat crossed with tower defense, and it rocks! Also, it's made by Tim Schafer, so it's got a great pedigree on its side on top of all the badassery. If you guys like the sound of that, give it a shot! Besides, it's only 800 ms points, so it's pretty cheap!

Oh, by the way, should any of you guys get really stuck on the late-game Volcano level, I've found that a really good loadout for that mission is the "Karlsson" body with an ICP and a MG turret, and armed with either two "Scythe" machineguns, a "Razor of the Gods" flak cannon and a "Mr. Pancakes" artillery piece, or a "Mr. Pancakes" with a "Fighting Wolverine" sniper cannon and a "Razor of the Gods" flak cannon. Don't worry if you don't have any of those by the time you get there, I looted about five of each in the course of trying to beat it.
I also picked up Battleblock Theater at the same time, which I have to say has a pretty steep difficulty curve by the time you hit world 7 or so. Great retro-feeling platforming fun with a variety of secondary gametypes for party play and a hi-larious voiced narrative, narrated by the one and only Stamper of Newgrounds fame.
Opening cinematic and intro gameplay:
Yeah. That is the only voice you will hear in the entire game, and he will remain pretty much the same the whole way through. You can however alter how much he squawks during gameplay in the options.
